The "Tri" of Fernando González: Better chosen Sportsman of the Year

For third consecutive year, the "Bombardero" remained with the award that his national pairs deliver. The silver in Beijing was his summit in 2008.

The best Chilean tennis player of the ATP again gained the award to the Best Sportsman of the Year (MDA), award delivered based on the voting of the rest of the sportsmen of the different disciplines.

The "Bombardero de La Reina" had 2008 marked by the medal of silver obtained in the Olympic Games of Peking, occasion in which it fell down before the number 1, Rafael Nadal, performance that was the top of his performance this period and that was recognized by his pairs.

In the voting, the tennis player overcame to others that they were postulating like probable winners, like the pitcher of the bullet, Natalia Ducó, the motorcyclist Francisco "Vest" López, the golfer Felipe Aguilar or the motorist Pablo Donoso.

"I thank those who voted for me, since they are they those who deliver these awards. In the tennis I take many years and it is difficult to motivate much more, but these big stimuli, than the people and than my pairs, they give me energies to keep on competing. I hope to return next year", affirmed the tennis player after receiving the award.

The "Bombardero" during 2008 there was entitled champion of the tournaments ATP of Viña del Mar and Munich, in addition to being a quarter-finalist in Roland Garros, Beijing, Tokyo and Vienna.
